Original Art Oil on Canvas & Gouache

Hello Collectors,

Added on by Ted Easler.

It's been a while since we chatted.  I have been busy since then.  Presently I am hanging a new and exciting show at Gallery 206 on Main Street in Mooresville, N. C.

This new show will feature my newest works entitled Tera-Flight.  These works are based on a now extinct reptile. The medium is oil, watercolor and chalk pastel.

Also in the show are three paintings featuring old car parts from my Cuban series.  Each painting is impressionistic using bright colors and designs.

These will be posted soon to my website under DeStijll.

Hello Colletors,

Added on by Ted Easler.

Since my last blog I have been working on a series of art work, on paper.  Some are water color with pencil and colored ink.  I have not yet named this series however, they will be a style somewhat between constructivism and DeStijl.

Because of their smaller size, their prices will be lower but the quality and design will be right up there with all my other pieces. If you are new to collecting, these can get you started.

Thanks for keeping up with my latest artwork and happy collecting.

Are you enjoying your collection of Art?  It is a precious and valuable commodity in this day and age.  It brings great joy as our Art collection grows to include more paintings of beauty and value.

Here are some guidelines for collecting art:

1)   Pick out a piece you really like.  You will live with it and enjoy it for a long time.

2)   Get to know the art community.  Go to galleries, museums, read books on art, talk to others who know and appreciate art.

3)   Get to know the artist through his or her gallery, shows and visit their studio.

4)   Ask questions about the artist;

        a) How long have they been painting?

        b)  Where do they get their inspiration?

        c)  What is their style?  Ex.  Modern, traditional, cubist ect.

        d)  What series are they working on and what is next?

Start your collection with a low to medium priced piece and build up to the art that you can reasonably afford.

An informed collector is the artist best friend.

Since my last blog, I started a new series of paintings.  Four small and one medium size, all oil on canvas.

The theme of these paintings are based on the Russian art of the teacher, writer and artist, Kazimir Malevich,  his Suprematism period from 1914-1929.      These new paintings, capture all the excitement, color and the beauty of the times.

The pictures and prices will soon be posted on  my website.

It's been a while since I posted my last blog and a lot has been going on.

On Friday, May 13,2016, Gallery 206 held an openning.  This was during The Moorseville Art Gallery Walk.

Many  stopped in to view my new show and ask questions about art in general. It was great to see  that many people appreciate original, modern and traditional art.

My show, at the Woodenstone Gallery in Davidson, has also been updated with some new works in my Widget and Constructivism series.

Hello Collectors

My new art show is up and running at Gallery 206 and on my web site, www.tedeasler.com.  It is called Constructivism II.
The designs and colors are bright, bold and beautiful. However, instead of the blending that went into my first series, these are solid colors.  They are similar to what the artists  Piet  Mondrian and Ferdinand Leger did in their paintings.

I hope that you like them and want to add them to you collection.

UPDATE

Hello Collectors,

Today is August 18, 2015 - The new summer show, at Gallery 206 in Mooresville, NC, is in it's second month and has had wonderful response.

My new show, Constructivism II, will open on September first.

The new paintings will have patterns of dazzling color and form. These paintings have a spontaneity of vibrant motion.  At the same time, I have simplified the colors so that they are pure, with no blending and little texture. They are in the style of Piet Mondrian and Theo Van Doesburg.

The show will run through September and October 20115.

New Show

Added on by Ted Easler.

Hello Collectors:

My new show De Stijl II is based on  a concept that was started in 1917. The object behind the painting is to bring, by the use of color and design, a sense of balance into our lives. Although the leading artist in this movement was Piet Mondrian, Van Doesburg and Bart Van der Leck also succeeded in their efforts.

I hope by the use of Gouache on paper and Gouache on canvas to extend the De Stijl style of painting to our time.

From April 1 to May 31 2015 the new show featuring these paintings will be at Gallery 206 Mooresville, N. C. and on my website.

There are eleven paintings in the series.  Some are 5 X 7 and two are 8 X 10.  All are signed, matted, under glass and framed to  11 X 14 size.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed painting them and add them to your collection.

De Stijl II

Added on by Ted Easler.

Welcome Art Collectors,

I have just finished a series of Gouache on paper in the De Stijl II style.

As I mentioned in my last blog, the De Stijl concept was far ahead of the technology of it's day.  However, with the advancement of computers, tablets and cell phones, the beauty and design of my paintings fit right in with our daily lives.

I hope you will enjoy viewing them and adding them to your present or new collection of art work.

Happy Collecting,

Ted

De Stijl II

My Latest series of paintings are up and showing at Gallery 206 on Main street  Mooresville, N.C.  This show will be ongoing through October 31. 2014.

The show is made up of three large paintings in the De Stijl style,  This  consists of five to six basic colors on a off white background.

Unlike the  De Stijl movement, I seek to build on original ideas so as to show the things that make our lives so much more advanced and exciting today.

The shapes, colors and designs will remind us of our busy and colorful lives.

Gouache

Added on by Ted Easler.

Gouache (french)

Gouache is a guality pigment.  It can be used with the fluidity of watercolor paint or the opaqueness of oil paints.  In my new paintings,  I am using it in a solid state.  Just as  I would use oil paints.

These new paintings can be seen in the Art Gallery under Constructivism- Gouache
